Building street address, plus room or apartment number
Building Name

*Use the student's name as it appears on their KUID. This is the name that Housing & Residence Life desk staff have access to when sorting mail. The use of nicknames, or lack of name may cause a delay in delivery.

Package Pickup
Package deliveries are received by Housing & Residence Life staff and kept in a secure area. Residents will receive a notification email to their KU email address after packages are logged and should go to the front desk of their building for pickup. After showing the desk assistant their KU ID card, residents may collect their package. Students can receive packages and mail throughout the school year.
Upon moving out of Housing & Residence Life, residents will list their mail forwarding address.

Remember to include your name as it appears on your KUID and the room number on anything being sent to the student.
You can find mailbox information in your myKU Portal under the "View Assignments" tab. This includes your mailbox number and the combination to access it.
Residents will receive a notification to their KU email address after packages are received and logged by Housing & Residence Life staff and should go to the front desk of their building for pickup.
Staff logs each package we receive electronically, and then notifies the resident that a package is ready to be picked up. This procedure does take time so it may mean that your package is currently being processed. Please check back later that day. If you still do not have a notification later in the day, ask the front desk staff about your package.
If your package is not at the desk, please email all information about your package including the tracking number, date and time of delivery, and the name of the person who signed for it to shdeskoperations@ku.edu so that our staff can attempt to help you locate the package.
You will need your KUID card. You must pick up your package in person from the desk. A friend or family member cannot retrieve your package for you, and staff are unable to bring the package to your room.
Staff will do all they can to determine to whom the delivered package or mail belongs.
If the name on the package or envelope is significantly different than your name, the staff will be unable to determine the recipient of the mail or package and it may be returned to sender. It is important that all your mail and packages match your name on your housing contract in order to eliminate confusion. Mail with no name in the address will be automatically returned to sender.
The Post Office that services campus is the Lawrence Post Office located at 645 Vermont St. and can be reached at 785-843-1681.
Please return mail that is not addressed to either you or your roommate to the front desk.
Update your address. To ensure that you receive all your mail, make sure to update your mailing address with your billing companies, subscription services, friends, family, etc. After 30 days, all mail will be returned to sender.
We highly discourage students from ordering furniture and large/heavy items due to limited space at the mail centers and the difficulty of transporting these items from the mail center location to the student's room.
Plan to bring most of your belongings on move-in day. Please do not order packages for delivery to your hall until after you have moved in. Anything received before August 14 for incoming students will be returned to sender. We highly recommend having packages arrive once you have moved in. There is limited secured storage space to handle large deliveries for an extended period of time. In addition, during move-in day the flow of traffic is highly managed and delivery trucks are restricted.
